Riley Sager

4.01 AVERAGE

This was a dual timeline story which allowed for ample haunting. I really enjoyed at least 3 quarters of this book. I fell for every red herring including the actual conclusion so I didn’t feel the satisfaction when I turned out to be right(ish) that I normally feel when I figure something out. I think there was too much going on at the end, it’s almost like the author wasn’t sure how to end it so just put all of the endings in one. Otherwise it’s a really good read!

This was a frustrating experience. I loved about 90% of this book, maybe even 95%. I was even on board with the first "twist" . The second twist, however, is where this book lost me.

3.5/5 stars because that last 10% or so really disappointed me.

Making my way through Riley Sager’s old books! This one had very spook vibes - I loved the setting and everything!

Oh. My. Wow. This book was so good! It was scary and surprising and well-written and such a page turner! I loved the book-within-a-book format. It was so descriptive I felt I was there - a blessing and a curse with a horror story! This was such an adventure to read!

I enjoyed this ghost (+ghoul

Keeps you guessing and interested. I like the switch between past and present or “book snd present”.
