I cannot get enough of the Crown’s of Nyaxia world and this little novella was a beautiful standalone piece. The pacing was amazing, it never felt too slow, or too quick, like the relationship between Lilith and Lord Vale felt so real and despite it being a slow burn in a short book, it still worked out perfectly for what the story needed. The aspect of human and vampyre working together to cure a disease made that love story build up so natural, nothing was rushed or seemed unrealistic (in regards to what is realistic for this book and this world). I just loved this one, in my heart, Carissa Broadbent can do no wrong and I loved this as something to keep us going before the release of the next piece in November! I’m so ready

This book was amazing ! I loved the characters, the story, and going back to this universe was nice ! Those characters have my heart, and I just wish the book would have been a tiny bit longer, however the storyline didn’t feel rushed !
I can’t wait to read The Ashes and the Star-Cursed King !

“Enough? What is it to suffer enough? The mouse suffers at the fangs of a snake. The snake suffers at the claws of a badger. The badger suffers at the teeth of a wolf. The wolf suffers at the spear of a hunter. There is no such thing as enough suffering.”
Six Scorched Roses really surprised me. I went in blind (like I do most books) and had no idea this wasn't about Raihn and Oraya. I expected to find them there but this novella felt like a complete standalone. I believe it will make sense once I read [b:The Ashes and the Star-Cursed King|62335396|The Ashes and the Star-Cursed King (Crowns of Nyaxia, #2)|Carissa Broadbent|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1676294168l/62335396._SX50_.jpg|98148518].
I usually stray away from novellas as I feel characters aren't complex enough and the story remains superficial. However here, I was gladly surprised to find Lilith and Vale so beautifully complex and well-written.
I found myself intrigued from the very first page and devoured the whole story rather quickly.
I am so eager to see how Lilith and Vale will fit into Oraya and Raihn's story.
