I laughed, I cried, I was happy, and I was sad. I hate to see this series end but it was a fun ride. Thanks Devon for the wonderful story of Allie!

Wow what a fantastic ending to a great series. This was a very unpredicatable book with so many twists and turns that I simply couldn't put it down.

Superb culmination to a superb series. I hate seeing series that I love end, but I know they must. I know an author has an end in sight and there are other stories to tell and this story has to end too.
Allie and Zay and everyone have been fighting the good fight to free up magic for proper use instead of letting it get into the hands of evil. This is that fight to end all of the fighting.
To say more would give away too much. There is love and sadness, good and evil, exhaustion and pain. People coming together, magic user and none to work together against the foe.
I love this series and this author. I can definitely recommend.

Book 9 and presumably the last book of a Urban Fantasy series I read for the Endeavour Award. The series has been uneven but in general it has gone from fair to very good. This is a system of magic fantasy book with a certain amount of magic technology - but no vampires or faeries or werewolves. This book had lots of plot and dying and driving around Portland. But all in all a fair ending to a pretty good series and a good one day read. 3.5 of 5.

Brilliant end to a brilliant series!
Still not happy about the Shamus x Terric baiting though! I won't read their trilogy because I want to keep shipping them!

OMG! This was sooo good but I'm so depressed at the thought that this is the last of Allie and Zay's books. I hope it's not but it sure feels that way. All the loose ends tied up tight, all Daniel's machinations out in the open. Cody, Stone, all the things I never saw coming till the end. Cried through the last quarter of the damn book but loved every minute of it. Went through almost an entire box of kleenex reading this one.

I'm looking forward to reading her books with Shame and Terric but still.....want Allie and Zay.

Wow! Just, wow! The last book in the series and it tied everything together neatly without being too pat. Great story.

Well, if you are going to end a series, then this book did a good job of answering all of the questions and giving us a HVA. Nice job, Ms. Monk! Love the series.
