“Bleeding into a magical car for too many nights, gambling on ghosts, and hoping nobody asks too many questions.”
Coming in at about 30 pages this was a great short, the pacing felt right and the main character was so easy to root for.
No matter how long or short the story is, Stephen Graham Jones always knows how to grab your attention.
Graphic: Death of parent, Physical abuse, Death, Self harm, and Domestic abuse

A fun little story! Killer car vibes mixed with the parental haunting seen in Mapping the Interior, a novella by Jones that I love.

Could not really get into this one. However, I don't think that short stories were written to be read over 5 sittings all between 2-4 am while you sit with your newborn in a state of exhaustion.
And that's that
And that's that

Under the rust she’d touched, there was that distinctive midnight blue that so many of these Z/28s had been painted with.
Which is not how rust works.
And on the right side of that handprint was the smear of blood from Jenna’s cut.
Until it wasn’t.

This was great, very satisfying and a surprisingly sweet ending.
