This book really made me think, and I appreciate that.

I would have given it a five, but the friendship didn’t seem like it was a best friend friendship - even before the Black boy was murdered. I don’t know if that makes sense, but that’s my thinking.

It was a good book to reflect on my own personal biases and how they may look to others. Also a kind and gentle reminder on how to bring others along with you if they do not understand, but are willing to grow.

The friendship and it’s growth is something I would love to see more of in my own relationships. That part was beautiful even if painful and difficult to watch play out.
