This book is written “English” and it took me a bit to catch on that some of the spellings were not mis spelled. After a few British terms I understood what was going on.  A first for me.
The storyline? Good character build up; enough to keep the wheels turning and make multiple scenarios make sense. Made them likable and unlikable at the same time. It did not drag on nor did it lose my interest.
The common link? All looking to buy a house. What happens? Someone is missing and who we think did  it probably isn’t who did.
The back and forth from current day “Talks” to the moment in time the events occurred threw me a bit but contribute greatly to the ending.  Main character came through like no other.
This was not a book that kept me on the edge of my seat or made me holler at the characters but it did not disappoint either.

Love anything with murders and psychopaths so I’m down.

Gillade den! Ingen går att lita på och alla lika kapabla till det otänkbara. Dock lite irriterande hur den talar om psykopater som typ aliens haha.

I read the book in two days. The story keeps you guessing till almost the very end with many twists along the way.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I felt the end left a few loose ends. Why did some of the characters not continue to pursue and share the truth like they had throughout the book? I won't go into details to not give away spoilers.

I found it intriguing that the main character considers herself a psychopath and that two other characters also turn out to be psychopaths. It created a different  perspective from other books I've  read.

There are also two themes that are a significant part of the story: domestic violence and social media (there are chapters that are transcripts of "SET Talks" (fictional TED talks) and one of the characters and her husband are influencers with over 2 million followers).

One thing I didn't think was necessary and which I skipped through were the detailed (thankfully short for the most part) descriptions of the heart surgeries. The main character is a heart surgeon, but those details did not add to the story to me.

Overall, I enjoyed the fast-pace and plot twists.

I don't know how to rate it. The first 80% were really boring and nothing happened, but as the story unfolded it was gripping and rlly interesting. I haven't read a thriller with this kind of villain and it was kind of disturbing, especially the last bits - they were really gruesome. I think 3 ⭐️ is reasonable!

3.5⭐️rounded up. This book kept me entertained. I love a good psychopath story and this one serves up several. It's also multi POV which I enjoy. For me, the narration fell flat. I think I'd have liked it more in another format.
