This started off strong for me, but then went sideways. How many sociopaths can be involved in one family/real estate transaction/neighborhood? Also, the ending...everything dramatic happened "off camera" We need to talk about Kevin did something similar to a much stronger effect. More frustrated because the components of something really strong were here, 3.5 stars.

The way this had me gasping… shocked me to my core.

I had done a soft DNF on this book and went back and I am glad I did. It was a bit difficult to decipher which characters were which in the beginning but once I got them down, I was hooked!! How far would you go as a mom for your child?! Great thriller and fantastic whodunnit!

A fun and fast read but not as surprising as I hoped.

I liked the slice of life into the characters who all had very modern day careers and lives in London. But I found it hard to remember which female character was which because their names didn't really go with their personalities in my mind. Maybe you have to be British to get a quick read on that. The pacing and the ending were quite dramatic though so I will forgive the fact that it took me time to re-orient every time the POV changed.

I actually liked the story and the characters in the story. Their motivations made sense. It was somewhat predictable, but it was written in a way where I was glad to be along for the ride.

The actual structure of the book was a bit confusing, and the POV changing each chapter was also confusing as the book got started. I found myself trying to remember who experienced what in the earlier chapters. If you have the patience to tough it out and can get used to the structure, it is an interesting read. The main pieces in plot seemed to be sparsely held together, so much so that I thought this book could’ve been two separate books. Lots of cliffhangers and things that kept me reading, I was never bored! The plot just was not for me. Also, not sure how I feel about all of the #metoo comments from the husband, and fat phobic comments from the main character. I’m still trying to decide if the author was joking? Or if the main character’s husband was serious about those comments?? Those comments were super out of left field and served almost no purpose to the plot. Entertaining read, just not the well tied together plot I love.

Very entertaining! I enjoyed reading through different perspectives and piecing together the story. Four stars because I found the plot twist to be a bit predictable.
