I loved this read! I became invested and engaged from the first few chapters and found this hard to put down. The suspenseful writing style made this gripping, and I was eager to find out how this would conclude. The number of characters made this storyline a bit confusing initially, but it soon stabilised as I began to understand them all more.
I have read others by this author, so I was prepared for a great read, and The New House didn't disappoint. Plenty of plot twists and unexpected events made for a great modern read, and this would be a great introduction to this genre or author. Recommended reading!

Very bad
Stacey (minor celeb) and Felix live in the Glass House
Millie and Tom want to live there.
Harper (influencer) and Kyle want to live in Millie’s house. All is contingent on one selling to the other.
Millie’s son is a murderer. He kills Felix and Harper and Millie covers for him, framing Stacey (I think — I skimmed heavily). He ends up killing Tom, too.

I feel like this book/author put so much effort into setting up these twists and turns that it lessens the quality of the writing. SO much of the mystery relied on the reader misunderstanding what was happening in a scene that it became more confusing than mysterious. This also lead to many revelations being told instead of shown.
Normally I LOVE an ending that makes you go back and see everything in a new light, but this one just felt forced. Like the author is pointing and laughing at you, saying "ha ha, I tricked you!!"
