i rate thrillers on two criteria’s:
1) the “can’t put it down” factor
2) how much I was shocked and entertained

this was an addicting read. some parts i had to suspend belief and the gory parts were hard to read. but i really did enjoy this book and i felt it was well written.

i would reread.

The actual structure of the book was a bit confusing, and the POV changing each chapter was also confusing as the book got started. I found myself trying to remember who experienced what in the earlier chapters. If you have the patience to tough it out and can get used to the structure, it is an interesting read. The main pieces in plot seemed to be sparsely held together, so much so that I thought this book could’ve been two separate books. Lots of cliffhangers and things that kept me reading, I was never bored! The plot just was not for me. Also, not sure how I feel about all of the #metoo comments from the husband, and fat phobic comments from the main character. I’m still trying to decide if the author was joking? Or if the main character’s husband was serious about those comments?? Those comments were super out of left field and served almost no purpose to the plot. Entertaining read, just not the well tied together plot I love.

An engrossing read that I read in a single day. Characters are interesting and have a fascinating relationship between them far beyond what I thought they would have.

Falls short of the five star "must read" category, being burdened with some fatphobia and some flippant notes on Me Too and accountability culture, other than that, a good read.
