"Welcome to the battle of the Psychopaths"

O.M.G-This may be the most twisted, dramatic, psychological thriller I've read of 2022. I could not put it down. The chapters are QUICK and each told from a different characters point of view. All the characters are dark and twisted in their own right, but when they come together its really an explosion of craziness.

Millie and Tom have been married for years. Millie a successful hear surgeon, has a dark side. She loves breaking into peoples houses and stealing little momentos, while her husband Tom sits by and watches. She has never had friends, because she claims she is a psychopath due to her horrible upbringing.

One day, Millie notices that her dream house is for sale. She is willing to do anything to get that house so she makes friends with the owner Stacy. Stacy is a successful TV anchor and one of Britain's sweethearts, but she's ready to let go of this property. As Stacy and Millie begin a friendship, Millie notices thing's about Stacy's marriage that aren't right. She has bruises on her arms and stomach, and knows that Felix is to blame.

Tom begins to worry about Millie's budding friendship with Stacty and doesn't seem to trust her, but Millie has never had a friend before so she gives Stacey the benefit of the doubt. But can she trust Stacey?

There are two other large characters, but I do not want to give away any spoilers. I absolutely loved this. I found myself making prediction after prediction to just be thrown off right after with a new and shocking detail.

I think if you liked the Arrangement by Kristen Modglin you'll definitely love this one. Probably one of my top five thrillers of the year!

The New House started off a little slow for me, but did pick up midway. It forces you to examine that some may have a darker hidden side to their personalities. I didn’t find the twist to be as mind blowing as it seems others did, but it had it’s moments.

I admit it, there is simply nothing I enjoy more than a great book full of psychopaths……and this one had some of the best!

Shocking, enthralling and emotive….loved it!

Don't get me wrong, I really like the writing. I liked the story and the way it unfolded.
But I hated everyone in the story and not one bit of it was "unpredictable." It was entirely predictable bc the author kind of told us what was going on the entire time. Maybe it's just me - I'm hardly unable to guess what is genuinely happening in a book.

This was a good thriller and it kept me guessing until the end, but ultimately the message lacked any deeper meaning.

This will probably be one of my favorite books this year. An absolutely thrilling, fascinating ride that really got under my skin.

Synopsis: Millie and Tom have discovered the perfect home, the glass house. They will do anything to get it. Harper and Kyle feel overjoyed when Millie and Tom’s house is ready to be sold. When Millie meets the owner of the glass house she becomes obsessed with the owner, Stacey. Something isn’t quite right with the relationship between Stacey and Felix.

This was an addictive joy-ride that never got boring. The story alternates between different POV’s and I found all the characters intriguing and real. There are also chapters where one character (we don’t know who) describes his/her life as a psychopath, and it is utterly convincing. Even if the story feels like it never could happen in real life, you feel that if it actually happened, you would believe it was possible. The story keeps you at the edge of your seat, and the writing style really appealed to me. I am sure the author has used a lot of time to research psychopathy and heart surgery, which only makes me respect the book more. The new house would make a great movie, with its original plot and fast pace.
