Absolutely precious. A complete departure from the shared world of her more popular series, this Carriger short story is a new fairy tale that was an absolute delight. Great story for all ages, very clever and funny. Thumbs up for a quick treat of a short story!

A fun take on the idea of a fairy godmother and the fairy tale world. Not Carriger's usual world but still with touches that remind you of the Parasol protectorate humour and world view

Totally adorable little story to read while I wait for my library hold on Competence to come available. A young fairy has a debt to pay, and saves the day with some banana puff cupcakes.

Title: Fairy Debt
Author: Gail Carriger
Series: None
Rating:3/5 stars
Format: E-book

Why'd you pick this book? I love Gail Carriger and I was interested to see her take on fairies

Summary: "I knew it would all end in tears the moment I saw the hat."
Cups is a fairy with a problem. She can't grow wings because is she under a death promise to a local king. So she takes service at his castle as the Least Jester, hoping to earn her wings and learns a great deal about cupcakes, tea daemons, and Earth dragons along the way.

Favorite and Least Favorite part: Favorite: I don’t have one. This story was good, and it was funny but nothing jumped out at me. Least: Same for least, I don’t have one. It was a good little story but ultimately forgettable

If you like this book you might like: Don’t let this review discourage you, check out Gail’s other works! Etiquette and Espionage is my favorite!

Honor debt repaying fairy, atypical princess, dragons, & tea! What's not to love?

A very cool take on fairy godmothers, a fairy debt but unable to do magic, a princess who knows how she wants to see the kingdom and a king who is blind to the talents of his daughter. It was a fun short that needed a little longer at the end as it felt a little rushed but was amazing fun!
