This was so fun! My absolute favorites were Burnt Umber by Mackenzi Lee and Roja by Anna Marie McLemore. I’m going to have to find other works by some of these writers. It was refreshing to read so many short stories about queer characters.
3.5/5
Super creative and brimming with heart, ALL OUT was a really fun read! The range of historical periods and genres explored was also so lovely.
My favorite short stories:
• “Roja” by Anna-Marie McLemore (1870 Mexico)
• “And They Don’t Kiss at the End” by Nilah Magruder (1976 Maryland)
• “Burnt Umber” by Mackenzi Lee (1638 Amsterdam)
• “New Year” by Malinda Lo (1955 San Francisco)
• “Every Shade of Red” by Elliot Wake (1300s England)
• “Walking After Midnight” by Kody Keplinger (Upstate New York, 1952)
• “The End of the World as We Know It” by Sara Farizan (1999 Massachusetts)
• “Healing Rosa” by Tehlor Kay Mejia (1933 New Mexico)

A collection of beautiful stories of love is love is love is love. Looking forward to the next collection!
I’ve been eking this book out since it arrived on Thursday but unfortunately I am not very patient.
It’s an anthology of historical fiction about queer teens and good golly was it beautiful!
My only complaint would be that there was more wlw couples than mlm, and no trans girls though there was two trans boys. There’s also three ace characters, including an aro ace Friar Tuck in the retelling of Robin Hood here!
I really enjoyed the book and am definitely planning on getting the sequel, Out Now, which was published May this year. Also, Anna-Marie McLemore? Definitely going to get one of their novels at some point. I bought this book because I thoroughly enjoyed Jessica Spotswood’s two anthologies of historical fiction about America girls and it was similar enough (though this book wasn’t just set in America and the main characters weren’t all girls)

Fine, nothing exceptional. Except for Melina's which seemed like a prequel to her book [b:Last Night at the Telegraph Club|35224992|Last Night at the Telegraph Club|Malinda Lo|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1593457992l/35224992._SY75_.jpg|56568979]
