Rich medic Tara is dumped by her dashing fiancé Alex as soon as he gets what he really wanted: the opportunity to meet her billionaire father and persuade him to fund his plans to save the Costa Rican jungles.

10 years later they are reunited as Tara ventures through the jungle to find a plant to cure a young boy.

I read this quickly but I didn’t like it as much as some Karen Swan books I’ve read. None of the characters is that likeable and the plot was a bit too sensational: jungle attacks, waterfall drops, kidnap, landslides etc. etc. When I thought the happy ever after ending was lost I felt a bit cheated but thought it would be a good twist, but then HEA happened after all.
I wonder whether this being a ‘Covid’ book contributed to this…? The pandemic must have affected authors as much as anyone and it’s logical that that is worked out in a variety of ways…

Absolutely loved this book!! I could not put this down!
First of Karen's books that i'd read but it definitely won't be the last.

Everything about Tara's character appealed and the story unfolded in a magical way.

The concept is good, but the product itself.. Meh
I wanted to feel all the feels as we followed the main character, but I ended up just not caring about her.. Oops! So nah not my cup of tea, but I can see why other people like it
