Not impressed. Just not my thing, I guess.

I've heard other people rave about this series but I was bored. It just didn't do anything for me.

2.5

fun to read but truly not that good

This fast paced novel doesn't disappoint. It's chocked-full of sarcasm and ghost busting action. The only thing that didn't really set well with me was all the cashmere the characters wore...

I also attempted a video blog book review... It's on my blog, check it out (feel free to make fun of me -- I would)

Check out the rest of my review on my blog Read it in Houston

it was really cool and funny how Suze within 2 days of being at her new school, becomes the most popular girl in the school, also because she's a Mediator.
Also the fact that there a uber-hot guy in her room who i think fell in love with her. :O

Meg Cabot has done it again with the mediator series. This first book sets up a hook to reel you in for the rest of the series. Suze is a funny, stubborn, zesty heroine. I couldn't wait to finish the series!

Didn't enjoy

You know, I must have looked at this book a million times. And everytime I did I sneered at the cover thinking "who would read this?" No matter how good the ratings seemed or how intriging the description sounded I was not going to read a book that had a cover this ugly.

Today I decided to read it. Not on a dare or anything like that but out of sheer boredom I decided that I would test my pacients with this book.

I could not have been more wrong. EVER. This book was amazing, I was hooked from the start with the main character whose both a loner and kicks-ass, who doesn't expect/want the sexy men to save her and doesn't go after the popular guy drooling all the while.
I fell in love with Suze after the second chapter and still can't get enough of her (I will be reading about her more as soon as I'm done with this review!)

I do wish that certain cercumstances with Heather would have turned out differently but I also understand that not everyone (including myself on certain occations) like happy emdings. So even though at this instance I wanted more I am more then satisfied. As well I love the overall ending to the story with not much (if any) of a cliff hanger but just needing to hear more of Suze's story :D

I’ve decided to reread this series for nostalgia’s sake and also because I can never keep the whole saga in my head but I know that I enjoyed them when I was younger, mainly the love story.
It’s funny to read this now as I think these were written in the early noughties so a few of the plot points/character behaviours haven’t aged particularly well. For example the ghost in this book is a girl who took her own life after her boyfriend broke up with her and lets just say the rhetoric around her is insensitive to say the least. But it’s fine I’m taking it with a pinch of salt, it’s no worse that watching Gilmore Girls or Friends now and cringing at some of the jokes. On to the next!

I so wish I had read these as a kid! Meg Cabot is unrivaled at writing a clear, engaging young voice - and I feel like Suze would have given 12yo me a boost of self-confidence!
