This is the first book in The Mediator series by Meg Cabot. I remember reading it as a teenager and always wanted to continue the series so I figured I’d finally get around to it by starting over with the first one.

This was definitely more juvenile than I remember it being but to be fair I was about 16 the first time I read it so I guess I was able to resonate with it a little more back then. I’m still looking forward to continuing the series and was able to get all of them from Thriftbooks thankfully!

I remember reading this book a few years ago during my trip to Australia and I can see why I loved it so much. It’s cheesy and cliché, but for young me it was perfect. I still enjoyed it a lot, brought the feelings I felt back. Definitely a solid 4,5 stars and I totally recommend it, especially as a re-read.

This books rocked when I was 13 and rocks today. Much like my brain development, the joy of reading it has been the very same. Although my love for this series swells like my appetite, elastic and ever growing, I find myself loving it more fondly than I did before. Sue is cool, wears leather jackets, ok? Her jeans has tears but fashionable ones and she wears a lot of black clothing. Very cool. She is friends with accomplished personalities. Very very cool. She also lives with a sexy ghost. Less cool. But that ghost respects her privacy. Cool. She kicks butts and ghosts, and has a no fucks given attitude, incapacity to gain weight no matter what she eats and to always excite people around her. But don't try to be Sue. Trying high kicks like Sue and having a tear in the thigh muscle is not what you want from your reading experience of a Meg Cabot novel. You want grilled cheese sandwich and iced drink to read from cover to cover, and soon finish all 6 in the series.

For the good old ghost busting teenager this is the series to read. About a teenage girl who has the power to see ghosts. Her role as a Mediator means its her job to make sure the ghosts move on to the other side.

So this book is a good read for those who just want a relaxing ghost busting read that is not like the type of paranormal novels you see today. There's nothing tense in this sort of ghost dealing. In fact Cabot's reads are simple, teenage girl with a secret ability who just wants a normal life.

Fun, tense, casual read for those who remember Sabrina the teenage witch.
