Really good! And so funny, also really hot.
The sex scenes were good, I loved how Flynn would go from sweet and nice to hot and heavy with a dirty mouth.

Cute friend group, cute family, mellow friends with bennies turned more.

A few characters in it kind of suck. Death of a young wife/mother in the past.

I enjoyed this book a lot. This is more an erotic romance than just a romance bit its really good. The sex scenes are steamy but flow with the book. This is a McCauley Brothers novel so the next 3 books are all about the sexy brothers! This one features the sexy plumber Flynn. Fylnn’s brother Mike’s new neighbors are Maddie the feisty redhead, Vanessa the perfectionist, and Abby the romance novels who secretly listens to Mike and his brothers playing poker every week to their stories to help her write. Maddie hates men, after her male boss tries to get her to sleep with him in exchange for a promotion. Instead she stormed out and quit. When she gets home she is pissed and hating men, and when she looks up Flynn is standing there. He was only there to fix a sink, but after hearing what her boss did to her, he was hooked.
They end up deciding to have a friends-with-benefits thing with each other- Flynn and Maddie, with no emotion. But they can’t deny the feels they have for each other. Everything will come out at a family barbeque.

I enjoyed the writing style of this book but the characters bored me. I spent most of the book thinking how much I would rather be reading any of the secondary characters' stories. Flynn wasn't developed enough and Maddie was stubborn to the point of just being annoying. I enjoyed the author's voice enough to warrant giving the book three stars. I really look forward to checking out the rest of the series.

It has been years since I read this author, so I really didn't remember how she wrote or if I would enjoy it, so I went into this book with a clean slate. I was actually pleasantly surprised by it!

Flynn and Maddie were such a great couple and I loved how we got to see their love blossom over just a few short weeks. They were witty and funny, but also came across as very down to earth and realistic as well.

Maddie's hangups about relationships got annoying at times, and detracted from my enjoyment of the story overall, but not enough to truly hate the book. My only other complaint is that we really don't know what happened to Maddie's former boss, and I would have enjoyed having that knowledge.

All things said and done, this was an interesting and steamy read that I really enjoyed. I'm looking forward to other books in the series!

  • Lately I've been in a contemporary romance kind of mood. Normally when I'm in these kind of moods I stick with tried and true authors but I saw this at BEA and it looked cute so I decided to take a chance and I'm so glad I did! It was cute and sexy and fun and just what I was looking for!

  • I'm a sucker for a good contemporary series involving families. I love watching the family dynamics play out along with the romance.

  • The Troublemaker Next Door was surprisingly funny. There were quite a few chuckle out loud moments.

  • I absolutely loved Flynn and his brothers. I love how they sometimes got a little childish with each other, but knew when to back off. There was lots of ribbing and joking between them. Flynn also has a great relationship with his parents, which I also love.

  • Maddie just got out of a relationship about the same time she lost her job (due to an unfortunate boss). She is aaaaangry, and rightfully so. It took a bit for me to warm up to Maddie. Her anti-relationshipness wore on me at first, but she changes as the book goes on and by the end she is someone that I can see being friends with.

  • Maddie and Flynn have a slow at first then a fast tumble kind of relationship. There weren't any moments that were completely over the top other than Maddie's insistence (to others and herself) that she doesn't need/want any kind of relationship.

  • I also liked Maddie's friends, especially Abby. I can't wait to read her story!

  • The Troublemaker Next Door is pretty steamy and a perfect summer read!

Overall I really enjoyed The Troublemaker Next Door and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cute and steamy summer read.
