An intimate, autobiographical exploration of depression and creativity—raw, experimental, and artistically bold without ever feeling self-indulgent. The shifting visual styles, fourth-wall breaks, and strong dialogue create a powerful, emotionally resonant narrative that’s both structurally clever and deeply human. A true masterwork, both in storytelling and graphic execution.

Unbelievably ambitious and personal and vulnerable and funny and sad and real. Wow. Just read it.

super cool! this hit really deep and the visuals were amazing, if i had to critique it i would just say that you might want to look into zoe’s other works before reading—just because she references them quite often & it can get confusing if you don’t recognize their titles!

I just love that it does not try to fix you or pick you up. Things don't magically resolve at the end but there are a couple of small beautiful moments and lots of gorgeous art and writing. Lots of really cool layouts and styles. Something that makes you feel a little seen if you feel like an alien sometimes.
I've followed Zoe on instagram for a while and her shortcomics resonated with me a lot, so I'm glad I got a copy of this.
