Thank you NetGalley!
I think this book was good but somewhat all over the place. It was about a girl who is grieving and is also dealing with mental health issues so she decides to write a graphic novel (she calls it a comic) about her experience after contemplating suicide during covid. Definitely a lot of triggers! It felt messy and chaotic but I think that’s what the author was feeling and what she intended so that’s why it came out this way. I enjoyed some of the graphics in this novel especially the video game section, text message section, the Microsoft word section and the depiction of anxiety and your skin crawling. It was giving mixed media and I was here for it! If you’re looking for a book about loss, grief and a woman coming of age while trying to heal from past trauma and mental illness.. this could be for you! I gave it 3.25 stars and rounded it to three!

Cool art, felt a little pointless but ig that's the point lmao

Ok so this took me a long time and it tortured me. Except, somewhere around the second half, It had me. I noticed the purpose of the book was NOT to entertain me, but it was to serve the author. It was to be what zoey wanted and I respect that.
Btw, that line with “If it made you happy, you would’ve stopped”, did actually stop me for a while. Absorbed in thoughts and new perspectives popping up.
I feel guilty for not connecting to this book but I cannot ignore how I feel about it.

I loved the art and wit. However, something seemed to be lacking... It fell flat during some parts.
