I wish I could choose half star options because three stars seems too harsh and four stars too generous. I really enjoyed the topic of this book and the way that the three different stories intertwined. Unfortunately though, my enjoyment of this book was impacted by the fact that the different storylines jumped around so frequently that I never felt like I got to experience depth with any of the characters. I also never really connected with any of the characters and felt like each storyline had a little "something," but not enough substance to really get me hooked. I needed more development and more time spent with each character before shifting perspectives. The writing and story was fine overall, but in a book that relies so heavily on characters, they unfortunately fell short for me.

I'll be honest, I chose this book because of the cover, but what an interesting story it was.

One of my favourite books ever. Very gripping and emotional

Drei ergreifende Geschichten. Frau Lunde überzeichnet das Problem des Bienensterbens ein wenig, aber das sei ihr verziehen, nur so funktioniert die Dystopie.

The concept is well executed, the characters are realistic and interesting and the first half of the book keeps you hooked as you're excited to find out more about the worlds and lives of the three main characters. However, the book lacks a strong plot, which makes the pace a lot slower towards the end and although it's rewarding to find out how the three stories are connected the ending falls a little bit flat as well.

Still, a good and worthwhile read!
