The second epilogue for this story was probably the one I wanted the most after listening to the novel. There was still a bit of mystery to be solved and it played out in a very fun way. I especially loved how Isabella described her parents and how in love they still were, even years later.

Finally the jewels have been found. But it really took the happiness out of it when she found them after 16 years of looking. It had something to do with the miscommunication trope between mother and daughter and I am not a fan. 3 stars only because SHE FINALLY FOUND THE JEWELS!!!

I'm not really liking the 2nd epilogues recently

Do you ever hear Sponge Bob in your head "One year later..." and there they are with the pizza box and no clue. OK, no pizza but instead diamonds.
Spoiler Their daughter, Isabella, finally over hears them searching for the diamonds, finally after 19 years knows why her mother is found periodically searching around the house mainly bathrooms, all of Isabella's life.
In the first epilogue, main book, we get to see Isabella at 10 years old make a decision, and I thought it was bad but definitely a possibility with a 10 year old.
Spoiler So Isabella decides to... what tell her mom, find out how her mom knows about the jewels, maybe write a note to her mom, even taunting maybe that she has found them and put them back, or put a note with the jewels at least (which was what I was expecting), but no... she just leaves them there for a year more,
what if it had been 10 years? 20? This ending was just so unsatisfying. Any of the other scenarios would have worked for me. The jewels were from her namesake
Spoiler and she doesn't even know it. They don't know that Isabella knows either.
And it is maddening to me and couldn't have ended any worse except possibly 10 years later having everyone die in a carriage accident.
Spoiler and then the grandson finds them. I just hated that no one talks to one another. By adulthood, Hyacinth doesn't tell Isabella, Isabella after overhearing doesn't at least play a game or something. Leave clues, something! And finally, Isabella doesn't even know what the jewels are all about.
Worse way to end it for me as no one talks to one another. Hidden lies and why? **sigh** I wish I didn't read it but at least Hyacinth now doesn't have to look any longer.

This was a good epilogue. I love how everything was still about the main characters and they were still busy with their search many years later. I thought it was a lot of fun, I just donโ€™t understand why someone kept something for themselves in stead of just telling them. Lol this might sound weird but I wanted to keep this spoiler free. If you know youโ€™ll know haha. Other than that is was fun!
