I love a good book with multiple perspectives from people interconnected in some ways. I think the structure was laid out really well and made the overall storyline flow really smoothly. I liked all the different experiences and stories and it had so many fun ohh moments where you learn more about a person.

While I didn't find this as riveting as A Thousand Splendid Suns, it was still a good, fun read. I loved reading about the realities of life in Afghanistan and the struggles people have had since everything went downhill over there. It's a real eye opener and it really helps you understand the situation as well as empathize with the people who live in this once beautiful country.

I picked up this book in a charity shop, having no idea who Hosseini was and slightly ambivalently expecting something that was too dense and literary for me. But Goddamn, I would've never expected it would have me staying up till 1am to finish the final chapter, and then bursting into tears.
This is book is absolutely beautiful - about many different people who's lives intertwine, even if they don't know it. Obviously it is about family, but in my opinion the story is most of all about human flaws, how good people can often end up doing bad things. But, at the end of the day...
"Out beyond ideas
Of wrongdoing and rightdoing
There is a field
I'll meet you there"
Good God, I never thought I'd be a poetry-quoting sort of person. But Hosseini couldn't have chosen that epigraph more perfectly, to introduce an absolutely amazing book. I'm definitely going to read some more of his work after this

Good story about reunion and loss but I got confused with the introduction of characters and trying to figure out how they were related

Khaled Hosseini is a great story teller and writer. I loved this book. I love the interwoven stories and I especially love the way the passage of time was written, how the events unfolded across the continents. It was beautiful to read, like floating of lapping waters.
I recommend it to everyone.

One day someone has made a choice..and life hasn't been the same anymore not only for him but for the generations that follow...
This book was to me close the most complete novel Khlaed Hosseini has written so far. unlike many people who think his previous works are far better, i think this one helds a lot of maturity and ease in writing, it feels like he is writing more and more at ease..which i really admire. The prose is unbelievably stunning..the way he unfold and wraps a chapter made me all excited for the upcoming one..i knew it then and now that I'm writing this: i know that this is my favourite novel by Khaled no doubt.. it talked to me so much, so openly, so wisely that it can't just be forgotten..
