Great book. Henry James is one of the best conversation writers!

A very long story about whiney privileged men being jerks to women, without any of the wit of a Jane Austen novel.

Okay. Yes, this book is well-written, engaging, a classic. But I found the main character so infuriating that I can't get over the frustration of the whole novel. So, I honestly can't say I loved this book. I do respect it. And you have to admit, an author that can get you to feel so strongly about a character (and even a handful of characters in this case) is doing something right. I would have given it high marks if my rating was based on significance of the title, but I am going with a three star rating simply because of my emotional response to the story.

Was for uni

I didn't like the ending very much, but I guess it had to go that way.
