Okay for young adult fantasy

The world was interesting and the story decent. Where the book failed was in its style. The characters spoke with the same voice. They also were unrealistic in how they treated each other and the world. Reading was an exercise in frustration as the main character did stupid things over and over again while acting as if she had some special gift and knowledge. Glad I read it, but I'll leave the rest of the series for those who are satisfied with simpler tales and exaggerated heroics.

Ah cliffhangers, my ancient enemies!

Episode two was even better than episode one, though it started slow and became interesting very fast around the midpoint. Again, so glad I didn't read along with vlog.
