Obviously this is the 17th book in the Women's Murder Club series. This one follows the crime of a shooter who is targeting homeless people in San Francisco. I keep coming back to the Women’s Murder Club hoping for something different, something that grabs me like Alex Cross books. I keep being disappointed. This was the same.
If you like WMC books, you’ll love this one too.

I love this series. Quick read (or listen). Easy to read a chapter or two and come back to pick up where you left off.
The second of the James Patterson books I've read recently and I enjoyed it slightly more than NYPD Red 5. My issues with both books are the same though. The author churns out so many books per year I think they lose some of the quality. This is like many of his others in that they are fine for maybe a beach read but you wouldn't want to go back and re-read them over again. There's just not enough plot to make you want to go back time and again.

I feel like it was okay!
The blurb made this one feel like it would be more about the homicides, but it's mostly based on the rape trial. This worked out for me since I enjoyed the rape trial more than I cared about the homicide narrative lol.
One thing that did bother me was that this didn't seem like it was proof read very well, at one point I presume it's trying to say UNITS secured the area and instead it says "unis". It also says things like, "the pair of weirdos was on the move"; surely this should've read "the pair of weirdos were on the move"? There are a few more examples but it was a bit annoying since it felt like I was reading a GCSE creative writing exam.
Nevertheless, it was just okay. Easy read. Fast and interesting in places.

Book 17.. wow. I just love this series and it is still going strong. The Women of the Murder Club are like family now.
