I really loved this autobiography. She is a straight talking woman but has a lot to share that should/could resonate with us all, albeit we might not use some of the foul language that she uses but I’m ok with how she tells it as after all it’s her biography and that’s how she speaks, so it's ok with me. The title of the book says it all really, she lays it all out including her sexual encounters over the years (which I think would make some cringe) but again, her story, her right to include whatever she wants! And she also relays all of her acting and radio adventures and clearly shares the love of the key people in her life as well as shaming those that she feels need shaming too. She has a wonderful way of retelling her amazing life experiences with warmth, enthusiasm, humour, theatrical drama and emotion. I loved hearing about her family, Jewish upbringing and how she has continued with her Jewish routes throughout her life, albeit not in a religious way. I would love to ask her over for dinner as she has so many wonderful and interesting stories to tell, although I would need her to promise to let us know before she farts ;-) thank you Mariam, really good read!

I always start celebrity autobiographies with such hope. And Miriam Margolyes appears to be such an interesting and quirky character when you see her in TV and film that I was looking forward to finding out about her life. And while the course she has taken through life does have its interesting turns and diversions, this is ultimately a list of achievements and anecdotes from someone who is relatively privileged. And while there is nothing wrong with that, it doesn’t make for an especially engaging read.

This woman is spectacular. She has had a wonderful career and takes zero prisoners along the way. The book was a masterpiece and I was enthralled all the way through. I heard her voice as I read and I could not put it down. Thank you Miriam for sharing your life!
