I adored this book! I honestly didn’t know if I was going to like this book at first. It’s about F1 racing, which I know absolutely nothing about, but after reading this… I think I am pro and can become a team principal just like the MFC Chloe. This book had your rooting for a relationship between Chloe and the MMC Matt from the first chapter. This romance was not what I expected. She ended up messing everything up, which was actually nice to see. It wasn’t the man this time that was afraid of the relationship it was the woman, but I also understand why Chloe didn’t want the relationship public, as a woman in an all man’s sport, she didn’t want to be seen has Matt’s girl, she wanted to be her own independent person and I totally love and respect that. This book had such a great ending! It was just perfect! I don’t want to give it away, but the ending was unexpected but turned out to be perfect! I wouldn’t change a thing!

Loved Drive me Crazy from countdown to crossing the finish line! This was a whirlwind rivals to friends to lovers with a sweet second-chance storyline. The balance between plot and romance was top-notch. Even though I'm not generally a sports gal, I was completely invested in the races and feel like I understand F1 so much more now! 10 out of 10 romcom

I am slowly, but surely quickly becoming a F1 Romance fan and it is because of books like this one. Lizzy makes F1 feel approachable from every angle. She explains things so people like me, F1 Newbies, actually start to learn what they are getting in to.
There are so so so many parts of this story that have made me laugh out loud because they are just so relatable. One of my favorites was when Chloe’s boss is regularly sending her blank emails with everything in the subject line. Too real.
The relationship dynamics in this book are off the charts. There is pining, compassion, frustration, heartbreak and everything in between. That is what I have often enjoyed about Lizzy’s books. She creates characters that are so dynamic that you want them to fight and pine for each other.
I can already tell this is going to be a knockout and well loved book amongst F1 Romance fans.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me an ARC of this book :)

Thank you to NetGalley, G.P. Putnam’s Sons, and Lizzy Dent for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!
FINALLY. It hasn’t even been that long since I started this one, but it feels like it’s taken me forever. That’s not exactly the fault of the book (a lot of life has been happening to me lately), but it was pretty obvious where the plot was going about 50% through. That really shot my motivation to finish the book.
The relationship between Chloe and Matt was cute, and I love double-POV in romance novels. I will say, their public make-put sessions got a little too freaky for my taste, but I’ll try not to yuck someone else’s yum.
As someone who knows next to nothing about F1, I was able to enjoy the racing-related bits more than expected going in. If anything, I wish there’d been more of that here!
Overall, this was a right book, wrong time situation for me. The parts where I’d have liked more detail were a little rushed, and some of the drama was a little predictable, but as a romance novel it was perfectly cute. I’d say give this one a go, especially if F1 is your vibe.

I loved just about everything about this book!! Chloe and Matt are so real and likeable, and the F1 representation felt really good! I can’t truly say how accurately the F1 insider world was represented, given I’ve never worked for a team, but I’ve been in the paddock at a couple races, and it felt close enough to my experience to flow without jolting me out of the story!

Thank you to NetGalley for this review copy. I enjoyed this book. I liked the formula 1 tidbits and the “making of the team” was enjoyable to see and have Chloe work through her professional life. The love story was fun but I wish we got a little more backstory. I clocked the villain almost immediately and the way Chloe and Matt navigated it was really great. 3.75 stars

I know absolutely nothing about formula 1 racing but there is nothing more I want to learn about after reading this book!
Chloe and Matt grew up together, they spent their childhood racing and being friends. After going their separate ways, with unrequited love for Chloe, they are forced back together! Chloe is now the boss and Matt is at a low point in his life and career. I love their support of each other, honest communication and dedication to their relationship and work.

Thank you to NetGalley and Putnam for the ARC.
I live and breathe F1 racing, so trying out this book was a no-brainer for me. I'm the type of reader who needs all the explanations of racing terminology, although I understand why it was in there - not every reader is going to be an F1 fan before reading. However, I do think it all could've been introduced better as a glossary in the front rather than the clunky descriptions within the story.
As far as the rest of the story, I thought it was solid. We love to see a woman excel in a male-dominated industry, and we love an underdog/redemption story.
Something to note about this book that isn't the case with most F1 romance books, this one uses names of actual drivers and teams - most of whom are currently on the roster for 2025 - and honestly, it was a bit distracting. I think that will age the book very quickly compared to books that have a completely fictional grid.
Overall, a solid read. Enjoyable. Not the best F1 romance I've read, but very far from the worst.
