The Art of Loving

Erich Fromm

3.7 AVERAGE

A completely opinionated set of assertions about love and human behaviour with little foundation on scientific background. You may love or hate this book. Some of its ideas may seem very old fashioned like stating that gay people are not capable of true love. The book is better as an insight of how many people think rather than enlightening itself. I'd recommend other books about love like something from Dalai Lama before this one.

i don't have much to say and i can't say i learned anything new from this. pretty much everything talked about was something i had already learned beforehand so 👍

4 stars only bc there was a lil too much religious/christianity, but overall a very good message & perspective in what it truly means to love. i really liked the idea of loving as a skill to be practiced and always striving for improvement, and one that requires faith and courage

Freud wishes he would have written this shit
