3.5 stars. This book is good, and a super easy read. It was just what I needed after reading a book with a fairly complex plot.
But...this book is a standard story of “screwed up guy turns his life around”, and is almost too predictable. It does have a lot of heart though, so if you like/need an easy read you will enjoy this book.

This book was lovely!

I am a book seller and a librarian so I really appreciated the book humor and references throughout. It was so fun to read something that entered into my world. The characters were well drawn and I cared about them immensely.

I did find the end very sad, but the way the book was written, I was willing to accept it as an inevitable part of life.

This is probably one of those books that a lot of people will read simply because it's being talked about in literary publications and then say was disappointing because "nothing happens." In truth a lot happens. It is a book about real people doing real things, except that they are fictional, realish . . .people . . . um that kind of got away from me, but maybe it makes sense? But anyway, people end up in sad situations, terrible marriages, and tend to think about inappropriate things. That is life and that is what this book is about.

Give it a chance.
