this book has been in my tbr since 2016. it’s a shame i’ve only gotten around to reading it now because i have been missing out. 

it has found family, loveable characters, villains who never wanted to be villains, and my beloved kell, lila, rhy and holland 💗💗💗💗💗 5/5 would read again

I’m sorry to everyone who recommended this book to me, but I just wasn’t very into it. I like the author’s writing style and the world-building was interesting, so I really don’t know what didn’t click for me. I might continue the series if bullied enough by my friends, but beyond that there just wasn’t enough for me personally to get hooked.

This was straight fire. The world building is so cool and I lobve teh concept and magic system. The characters are so loveable like omg my littke war criminals.

I was really looking forward to this book, but I didn't get on with the characters; I don't know what it was about them that got on my nerves but I wasn't a fan of Lila or Kell. Although the fantasy concept seemed fascinating, I never truly got into the story, and frankly I'm not sure that I would've changed my mind if I had continued it for the last 150 pages. Overall, this one simply wasn't for me.
