This book was very adventurous and mysterious. The storyline is good however it kind of fell short towards the end. Its the type of survival/adventure book that has action and twists and scenes that keep increasing your curiosity and has you at the edge of your seat but it just drops and slightly pushes you back towards the end. A fun book with a simple ending, but I would recommend if you love action and a good eerie thriller.

I could've had a young adult, sapphic body horror story set on a quarantined island but all I got was a vaguely described parasite and an open ending.

Premise was interesting but characters fell flat. I wish they would’ve focused more on the adaptions/mutations the girls had. The romance felt budding but never solid or relatable. The short sentence structure wasn’t horrible but felt bland at times. Honestly it feels like there could’ve been so much done with this idea but it was executed poorly. This edition had a map of the island which always adds a little more fun to things. I enjoy a sad ending and Hatty dying felt like a solid way to finish things considering the state of the girls.
