I love you gay people.
I love you horror.
This is going on my bookshelf as soon as I can get my grubby little mitts on a physical copy.

Just finished this and it's sooo good! I gave up following along with the movies bc a lot of them are hard to find streaming for free. You don’t need to follow along tho. It was so good. I liked that the only thing bringing them together was the fact that the essays were by queer authors. It spanned such a variety of topics and experiences and I found myself connecting with things that I didn't even know I connected with

If you’re gay and a fan of analyzing films, this book is perfect. Bringing multiple queer, trans, and POC perspectives “it came from the closet” reviews and dissects at least one (if not all) of your favorite horror/thriller films.
Most importantly it allowed me as a reader to connect with each essay. Feeling heard and seen for finding comfort, entertainment, representation and inspiration in the genre is prominent in these essays.

oftentimes when i review anthologies, i say there were ups and downs, but this book ranges from B++ to A+ all the way through. some essays were more to my taste than others, but all of them were so well-written and well-organized that i can’t help but be overall impressed. if you’re looking for a diverse theorization about queer appreciation for the horror (film) genre, look no further!
