Love the art in this book. Enjoyed the story quite a bit, too.

The story itself wasn't great, but the artwork and the layout was pretty cool. Which makes me rate this somewhere right about in the middle for a graphic novel.

I put this down and I can't recall why. This is one of the most exciting new comic lines to come around in some time (at least in the Batman universe).

This is my first graphic novel! I was thoroughly impressed. The pictures were just amazing. I was blown away. the story was also really intriguing and suspenseful. I read a lot of comments before saying the story was only okay but I thought it was powerful and there were parts that were unexpected. I really recommend anyone reading this. Oh and Kate Kane is very hot!

So far anything I've read by Greg Rucka has been good, up there with Ed Brubaker for powerful stories of real people - I would recommend Gotham Central before this if you haven't read his comics before.

This is Batwoman's origin story, it suffers a bit from feeling like you've been dropped into the middle of a story where you feel you should know what's going on. But J.H. Williams stunning nouveau influenced art carries you through to the emotional ending.

The art was fascinating. Rucka's writing was excellent. Batwoman was compelling. Whacked out villain in the Bat-verse style. Father relationship was great. Highly recommend it.

I admit I picked this up from the library today first because I noticed Rachel Maddow wrote the introduction. I had no idea she read comics but was thrilled to learn she has given some politically subversive graphic novels to at least one major politician. Batwoman is queerer than ever in this volume, and for that, as well as that always fantastic art by J.H. Williams III, this earned four stars in my book.
