this book was so bad- and i’m hysterically laughing over it rn.
blakely spent half of this damn book drunk, drugged, or asleep, and ryat spent half of this book being a little bit too into blakely’s questionable consent. bc he did in fact have sex with her when she was ALL THREE OF THE ABOVE.
i also just don’t like how violent that ryat was toward blakely even when they weren’t having sex. let’s establish something called “conversations about kinks before we do them” PLEASE. communication is key guys!!!
my whole shebang on dark romance is that i think the lines are simply blurring. my form of dark romance is when he would kill anyone to protect her, but is still gentle and loving towards her, not randomly eating her out when she’s drunk and doesn’t know who you are 💀. or to top it off completely using her to get back at a guy that fucked you over 😭
too many wrong things with this book.
i’m sorry the whole plot- was just so fucking stupid. a frat turned evil “let’s kill people and put women into sex slavery” “oop, let me abstain from sex for three years to prove i’m a man” “a manly man?” “definitely a manly man”
the names??? Ryat (aka bad boy lingo for riot), Royal and Reign. why would you ever do that to your children? it’s the 21st century let’s not get ahead of ourselves here.
this book could’ve been 400 pages shorter and still be just as bad.
did i giggle? yes. did i hate it? yes. did i read the whole thing? yes.

I thought The Royals of Forsyth was my darkest read, but The Ritual is a close second! Or.. have Angel Lawson found her match??
It dosen't beat Lawson's writing, but the TW and kinks is more advanced in The Ritual. The plot is good, but maybe a little bit confusing at time? I'm not sure it's because of the writing or because I'm a non-english-speaker.
This book is DARK and has all kind of TW, kinks and spice. You are warned. Enjoy the ride 😏
