Wow. Just wow. Harbor and Lark are the perfect couple who meandered through life's messes. The ups and downs of life and they find a way back to each other. Though I love long books I think I could have used a little less rambling of the characters. The story itself is wonderful and well written but the written point of view gave a little too much inner monologue. This is my first read by this author and likely won't be my last.

Those three words come so easily that I realize that a timeframe can't dictate what the heart already knows.

Harbor and Lark find their person in each other after a couple chance meetings. The more they run into each other the closer they become until they can't stand to be apart. I loved how they opened up to each other and saw each other where they were at. Plenty of chemistry and angst as we see this couple meet and fall in love.

While I loved reading their beginning, I was a little surprised that we didn't reach the "second chance" part of the story until 80% in since it was mentioned.
Still a great read just not quite what I expected going into the book.

Swear On My Life is the moving, richly emotional second chance love story of Lark and Harbor. They were each other’s first love and thought they were forever but something transpired to change the course of their fate. It’s an angst ridden delectable glory. It’s a story that weaves heartfelt layers that convincingly portrays grief, fate, second chances, moving on, young decisions, hope and most of all love.

This story was emotional and full of angst. I never doubted these two as a couple, I was itching for them to unveil all their skeletons and move past their past, it takes time, it takes a lot of work, it takes a lot of trust but they get there. S.L. Scott really delivered on all those emotions that I crave and her character connection was on point. She delivered Lark and Harbor’s story with poignancy and passion. Their love was palpable and radiated through the pages and I couldn’t help but frantically read to get to the conclusion I was so desperate for. This was such an unputdownable read for me.
