One reason I love this book is that Charles Dickens and my dad have the same "voice" and I can just hear my dad reading this book to me. It was beautifully simply written and I loved it.

Simple, sweet overview of the Savior's life and teachings.

An okay book. Not overly touching or anything, but a quick, okay read.

Easy to listen to/read? Yes. A good overview of the life of Christ as read in the gospels? Yes.
Absolutely heretical? 100% yes.

I've never read a book that managed to both be entirely accurate to what Jesus did and miss the entire point of his teachings (Be good and you get into heaven! Dickens says).

This is a collection of lessons that one man created for his children to help them understand who Jesus Christ is and to be God-loving, good people.  It is an imperfect work, but one full of love for the Savior and for Dickens' children.  I respect his sincere intent to make the New Testament more accessible and comprehensible to his little ones.

A decent combination of the gospels but there were a couple places where his statement raised my theological hackles.

I know his intent was to never have this book published, but I really enjoyed reading it and I'm so glad his posterity decided the world needed this book. A sweet book to read at Christmastime, Easter or anytime really.
