Frozen Heat by Richard Castle

I have read the previous "Nikki Heat" books and like the other ones, this was a fun read. Every time I read one of these books, I picture the cast from the TV show "Castle" in my head playing the characters. Just when you think you know what's going to happen, the story takes an abrupt and shocking turn...like in the tv series. If you have seen the show, you can pretty much predict the ebbs and flows of the story, which is not a bad thing. This book would be a great pick up for mystery/police serial fans.

Solid mystery novel, and of course, love how it ties in and echoes the TV series, same as the other novels in this book series. 👌

Once again the book is better than the TV show and I love the TV show!! In this book Heat finds out who killed her mother and more about why though not the whole story . . .yet. It is so much more interesting and easy to follow than the tv version of why her mother was killed. You have to read all the books that lead up to this one (3). The third and fourth make up for the not so great first and second.

It is also fun to picture Kate and Castle as they appear on TV as Nikki and Rook. The characters' personalities are definitely the same!

Not quality literature, just quality entertainment for a huge Castle fan

God, these are so bad.

First of all, I'm never listening to another one of these on audiobooks. I thought the books were getting better. Turns out, I was just skimming the ever holy hell out of them and avoiding the boring bits.

The fun thing about reading these is doing it with the television show in the back of your head. Reading it as though Castle and Beckett are real people, and these books were actually written by him. But if that were true, I should hope Beckett would slap him for characterizing her this way.

Maybe it's my fault. All of the cops I know aren't completely brain dead, and call for backup when they go do stupid things.

Oh, there's no time to wait for back up, I have to go save the world. How's this, CALL FOR BACK UP THEN GO DO THE STUPID THING.

Ugh.

Physical copies only from now on. And I'm not in a terrible rush to continue the series.

50 Book Reading Challenge 2015: A book with antonyms in the title

A book with antonyms in the title was harder to find than I thought it would be. This worked out perfectly. Enjoyed the next installment in the Nikki Heat series. This one delves deeper into her Mom's cold case and uncovers lots of new evidence.

I really enjoyed it. They moved along the mystery of Beckett, I mean Heat's, mother's death much more quickly than the TV series did. And I noticed the pair of detectives named Malcolm and Reynolds this time. It's pretty tightly plotted considering how many way-too-long books there are out there.
