This was such a good book! It was suspenseful and very well written. There were times I thought i knew who did it, and then i would read something that changed my mind. I never did expect the killer to be the one it ended up being. I look forward to what she is releasing next!!
Definitely a good book. Kept me engaged from start to finish. I did have a feeling of the ending, which I'm normally pretty oblivious to. Definitely worth reading.
4.5 I picked this up thinking it was a quick fun read between other books, and it ended up being on the best thrillers I’ve read all year! The writing was fast paced and witty, I liked the multiple POVs and the characters felt so real. Want to read more from this author.
A fast paced crime thriller with an engaging and complex heroine, and plenty of red herrings. Detective Rowan had a damaged and traumatic childhood, and threw herself into police work to try to improve the system. Her husband Shep also grew up in care homes, and he's her anchor, always loyal and solid after Rowan's years of neglect.
But now she seems to be getting close to a younger colleague, and she's convinced Shep is having an affair. Her therapist is trying to convince her to leave her husband.
Against this backdrop, women are being murdered with the same MO. And Rowan finds herself under arrest

I enjoyed this quick read -- nothing earth-shattering, just a solid, suspenseful drama with several twists. The interactions seemed realistic, and I invested in the characters. I would read more from the author.
I received a complimentary copy of the novel from the publisher and NetGalley, and my review is being left freely.

October 24. I really enjoyed this book. The twist at the end was really nice.
This book almost felt like an episode of Law and Order: SVU. It’s a twisty mystery that will have you thinking you’ve figured it out, only to realize you haven’t! Once you pick it up, you won’t want to put it down! Thank you Netgalley and Storm Publishing for the arc.
mysterious
medium-paced
I struggled keeping track of the characters on audiobook with this book. It wasn't bad, but the interweaving didn't work all the time for me. I kept thinking it was going to wrap up w a reveal, and it took awhile to unravel instead.
A 3.5 - I've quickly come to rely on Amanda McKinney to deliver a book I want to read in one sitting and that was the case here. Since it was Easter, it made it two sittings. Still glued to the pages.
