One of Shakespeare's quickest plays to get through -- a narrative with potential that suffers from a lack of real dramatic tension (e.g., Ferdinand and Miranda's boring courtship, Caliban/Stephano/Trinculo's plot that even Prospero forgets about, low-stakes revenge). I still have a soft spot for this one and its appearance in Life Is Strange: Before the Storm. Sure a stage production would interest me more with its casting and set design choices!

One of Shakespeare’s more straightforward stories, in my opinion.  Prospero, former Duke of Milan, has been on an island with his young daughter Miranda for 12 years with 2 “servants”: Caliban the savage and Ariel the airy-fairie.  His betrayers are washed ashore after a storm and he has the opportunity for revenge.  However, he decides on forgiveness instead to assure a life for his daughter.  One of the “problem plays” bc it has characteristics of both a comedy and a tragedy.  I think it’s the former.

I always find Shakespeare interesting - but it wasn't comedic enough for a comedy, and the drama was pretty light as well.

Si les œuvres de Shakespeare sont encore lues 400 plus tard, c’est qu’il y a une raison
