In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage.

Lord almighty, this has to be my new all time favourite. Steinbeck wrote this 85 years ago and I’m right there with him. How can written words capture so perfectly the quiet stubborn will of the human spirit, the ugly face of ostracism? I turned the pages fast and slow. This was a gorgeous bath of words I never wanted to climb out of. I’m forever moved. Bury me with it
