This book was so adorable! It does seem like dogs might be the last good thing on this planet.
A genetically enhanced pack of dogs who can communicate on a telepathic network sets out to save the world from an out of control evil mastermind with the help of an autistic boy, the only human in the world who can interact directly with the canine network. Devoted by Dean Koontz is an action-packed thriller dog lovers will enjoy, I certainly did!
"The toy bone was conceived by the human mind, crafted by human hands, given to Bella as an expression of love, so it comforted her even when she was alone, while her family slept."
It's been many years since I read Dean Koontz. It felt like reading as a kid, sneaking under the covers. I love these people. And the dog! Oh my.
Everything a great book should be. Plus dogs.

I don't know what it was but I couldn't get into this book. I like the idea of a loyal dog and the blurb sounded good, I just wasn't into it.
Great start to the book, unfortunately the ending was not as good as I had hoped.
Ok... I didn’t give up on this weird and ridiculous tale but I should have. It was as if Koonz had 3-4 stories all mashed into one crazy idea. Ditch the whole ‘sci-fi monster guy’ storyline. Stop with the endless details of each minor character. It was never thrilling nor captivating- just strange.
I listened to this book on Audible and really enjoyed it. I will say I randomly chose this one because I knew it would work with my kindle unlimited plan. I was not disappointed at all. The story he wove and the characters were great. So much creativity in creating this world. I enjoyed the “personification” of Kip, I’m not even sure that’s the right word. How he helped Woody interact more was a fascinating concept. Gene manipulation is one of my favorite things to see authors spin and the ideas in which they create. I always hate to see corruption in law enforcement, especially since they are supposed to be there to help the public.
Koontz did a great job weaving the stories together and bringing it to finish at the end. I will definitely listen to another one.

If you’ve read any Dean Koontz, you know the score here & you won’t be disappointed. Homey loves dogs & he loves formulaic suspense. & you know what? So do I.
