Fun collection. I enjoyed the weaving in of the supernatural with a combination of spook and logical explanations. Not as enjoyable as some the novels I've read by Agatha Christie but a great cozy read.

A compendium of short stories chosen because of their links to the supernatural. But with old favourite characters such as Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot appearing, is there more to the tale than meets the eye?
Many of these would have been published in magazines or books of short stories, and have been brought together for this spooky edition.

I wouldn’t say horror and the supernatural are Christie’s best. Indeed, many of the tales ended with it all being explained by an over dramatic murderer, but it was still as crisp and cleanly plotted as some of her more major works.

This was enjoyable. Some stories I found more to my tastes than others, and there's a few stories I quite liked. I don't have much to say about this.

As a big fan of Agatha Christie novels, I was so excited to get my hands on this! This book is a collection of twenty supernatural and mysterious short stories. While all of the stories included in this collection are stand alone, this book does contain a few short tales starring a couple of familiar favorites, Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple.

My favorites included:
The Last Séance
S.O.S.
Philomel Cottage
The Dream
Wireless
The Blue Geranium

This was such a fun, spooky read and would be a great option for someone looking for some quick, seasonal stories for Halloween.

Geoffrey has that—a blind understanding. All children possess it. It is only as we grow older that we lose it, that we cast it away from us. Sometimes, when we are quite old, a faint gleam comes back to us, but the Lamp burns brightest in childhood’

A perfect collection for a cold autumnal/winter evening, The Last Séance puts together many of Agatha Christie’s short stories with a supernatural edge to them, each mystery as gripping as the next!

For lovers of the supernatural and the macabre comes this collection of ghostly and chilling tales from Agatha Christie. Acknowledged the world over as the undisputed Queen of Crime, in fact she dabbled in her early writing career with mysteries of a more unearthly kind – stories featuring fantastic psychic visions, spectres looming in the shadows, encounters with deities, eerie messages from the Other Side, even a man who switches bodies with a cat…
This haunting compendium gathers together all of Christie’s spookiest and most macabre short stories, some featuring her timeless detectives Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. Finally together in one volume, it shines a light on the darker side of Agatha Christie, one that she herself relished, identifying ten of them as ‘my own favourite stories written soon after The Mysterious Affair at Styles, some before that’.

I loved this collection so much, naturally some stories are always gonna stick out to different people, but my personal favourites were The Dream & The DressMaker’s Doll. Have you read this collection yet? If so, which were your favourite stories?

Not my favourite Christie stories, or even my favourite set of her short stories. There are some gems in here, but some definite duds as well. Worth reading if you love Christie and are in a spooky mood, but don't let this be the first thing you read of hers.
