What a beautiful little book. This is such a sweet and inspiring, thoughtful and tender story. You sometimes experience life as the cats or sometimes as the characters, regardless, each account is dealt with extreme love and passion, a true slice of life! I find myself now feeling deeply content and warm after finishing this!!

As an avid cat-lover I was interested in the concept of this book before I realized who the author was, once I realized the author directed some of my favorite anime films I had to read it! The writing style and flow of the plot were very similar to his films, so I really enjoyed it. The content was heart warming and only added to my love for animals! Finishing the story with Kuro, the feral cat turned housecat, was perfect and reminded me of the first feral cat my family took in.
This was a delightful little read. It was simple, witty, and demanded no brain power: just like a Sunday afternoon movie. I recommend it if you are in the mood for talking cats.
“actually, i was the one who’d been rescued” really resonated with me because that’s how i feel about my cat too he definitely rescued me and not the other way around. so cute and cozy and warm i liked it!
