If you cannot tell, I loved this volume. The material in this volume isn't where the series hit the 5 stars for me. But I still love seeing the Wens getting hunted down by Wei Wuxian and his resentful energy. And just the little moments of Wei Wuxian being vulnerable with Lan Wangji. Even the moments with Lan Xichen didn't temper my mood.

A solid installment with some of the most heartbreaking parts of the story--the destruction of Lotus Pier and the death o the Jiang parents and then followed by Wei Wuxian slowly being corrupted by his cultivation. And in the current timeline, I loved seeing Lan Wanji get to stand his ground and take Wei Wuxian home. I love this story so, so much.
