Dating Dr. Dil was soooo cute! I’m a sucker for enemies to friends trope and this book immediately sucked me in! I loved both of the main characters, especially Kareena. She was a strong-willed and independent woman who knew exactly what she wanted and wasn’t willing to let go of her expectations of love. I also enjoyed the banter between the two characters, even though they couldn’t stand each other, they had such great chemistry that made me want to keep reading. I also really loved the Bollywood setting and the South Asian culture throughout the book. I found myself laughing out loud - especially at the aunties! They kept trying to arrange for Kareena to go out with different men to help her get engaged and their characters are hilarious

This had me HOOKED from the outset, and really just continued from there. It's everything a good contemporary romance should be, funny, sweet (Prem calling Kareena "Rina, honey" constantly should have been aggravating but it was decidedly not), spicy scenes to make your toes curl, elements of family AND found family, with what imo was also really wonderful representation of the South Asian community. Want to immediately re read!!!

Loved this one!! I was really looking forward to it for ages, so I'm really happy it lived up to the hype. The main characters were loveable and I was rooting for them the whole time. I loved learning more about Desi culture and the expectations and ideas that come from it, especially the pressure placed on first generation immigrant children. There was spice, there was romance, there was humor.

Kareena (or Rina, honey as Prem likes to call her) is a thirty year old Desi woman whose world is shaken up as her father announces he's going to sell the house she's grown up in, where most of her memories of her late mother took place. She's often overlooked, brushed aside, and forgotten in place of her younger sister, a minor influencer who is getting married soon. She's feeling the pressure to get married, or at least engaged on many sides, as her family, and larger community as a whole find it odd that the older sister is still unmarried while the younger sister is planning her wedding (yes, this is a Shakespearian retelling). Not only that, but if she's engaged she can use the nest egg her father set aside for her as money to buy the house from him. (Un)fortunately, Kareena desperately wants a love match, like her parents, which makes things even harder because she can't just simply get arranged by one of her many auntys and get to keep her home.

Prem is a cardiologist, handsome, 35, tall, and is basically catnip to the auntys. He's trying to open a health center specifically for his community since his fiancee died after not receiving proper medical care. He also hosts a local tv show centering on issues in the community, and is known as Dr. Dil. He doesn't believe in love in marriages since his parents didn't verbalize their love to each other, and when he needs to get engaged, he's looking for someone compatible but not emotionally invested.

Due to a comedy of errors, after initially getting along ~very~ well, their first encounter doesn't end well, leading to a public showdown that goes viral thanks to Kareena's sister. Now Kareena needs to find someone willing to date her and become engaged within four months, and Prem needs to find new backing/investors due to the scandal they caused.

My one (lighthearted) warning is that Prem did name his penis.... Charlie.... and it is used in the context of the spicier scenes. Other than that I really thought the spicy scenes were great, and admittedly the Charlie aspect did add a sense of humor.

I would recommend if you like: spice (literal and figurative), protective male MC, sweater vests, adversaries to lovers.
I would not recommend if you don't like: family issues, interfering auntys, stubbornness.
