Not flawless by any stretch but overall a really fun, sweet and spicy romance.

This was a fun, breezy read. I really liked Kareena and Prem was really sexy! He was maybe a little too aggressive and I was frustrated at the way that he struggled to see Kareena's perspective, but of course, that's where the drama comes in.

This was a super super sweet romance and I was always rooting for Prem and Kareena. I also loved Kareena’s relationship with her aunties and how they really banded together to take care of her after her mom died. Overall, this book does a great job of showcasing the pros and cons of Indian culture.
I did think the ending was a bit rushed,
especially how Prem basically didn’t make up with Kareena’s dad after their fight and we’re just supposed to assume that he’s totally fine with Prem marrying Kareena after all that went down. Also, for all the emphasis put on how unfairly her family treated her, I would’ve liked to see a little more of a resolution to that. Like her conversation with her dad was very sweet, but I wish we’d gotten something similar with her grandma and her sister.

Also, in every single sex scene—and there were many many sex scenes—Prem referred to his penis as “Charlie” and I felt like projectile vomiting every time. Like I really don’t understand the reason.

This was a really adorable retelling of Taming of the Shrew. I really liked Kareena's character and how strong and independent she was, even if her family was awful to her. Her family sucked. I didn't like them at all. They treated her like crap, were so rude, and took advantage of her. Especially her sister who was a spoiled brat. I wish she would have stood up to them more.

I really enjoyed reading about the friendships (both male and female) and think they were one of the best parts of the book. I also really liked how we got the flashbacks to the first night they met and the banter of the aunties.

I found Prem to be really immature. When he was admitting to himself that he loved her, but wouldn't say it outloud, it was akin to him having a temper tantrum. I felt like the author tried to show growth in his character too fast, and it just fell a little flat.

This book was such a fun read - I finished it in a day and couldn’t put it down! There were a few things that made me cringe a bit (examples: Prem always calling Kareena “Rina, honey”; Prem’s references to Charlie), but they weren’t bad enough to turn me off of the book. I was rooting for Prem and Kareena to get together from start to finish, which I think is a good sign for a romantic comedy novel.
At times I found Kareena’s views about love to be a bit naive for a 30-year old accomplished lawyer. I also thought it was a bit rushed that all of a sudden Prem could tell Kareena he loved her because his mom explained how their family engaged in non-verbal communication about love instead of saying it outright. Prem can’t actually be that dense right?
I am excited for the future books in this series, and I hope we get to hear more about Prem and Kareena’s friends!

Funny, sexy and such a fun read. One of the only rom-coms I’ve read this year that I think would actually translate really well to a movie.
