for such a long book, it certainly kept me engaged. Great plot, good characters. First I've read of this author, will seek out more!

Ah! This is the book I have wanted to read ever since I read Monster In The Closet – yes, I know I have read her books out of order; but every single one of them are standalone and can be read without spoilers (if you don’t count their HEAs!)

Steve Mazzetti had my sympathy ever since I found out that she lost her husband and her son in a robbery gone wrong and I have loved Clay Manyard; because I got to know him as a father in Monster in The closet – but I have also known them individually; I have to be honest their start to the journey to forever never impressed me.

Clay is a good man – and it struck me wrong that Stevie never wanted to see that – all around people said that she was a good woman and a good cop and an amazing mother and she was, really; but the way she treated Clay just struck me wrong!

And with all these apprehensions in my mind, I started this book – and it threw me a curve and i had a multitude of feelings to sift through – all the while trying to understand who could have this manipulative enough to actually orchestrate such a complex weave of circumstances!

But I enjoyed every second of it; for it gave me time to enjoy the angsty journey of Clay and Stevie to their HEA – I just hope that Cordelia gets her own HEA one day!
