Instead of a regular review, I’m going to share a text I sent my family the second I finished this book. I think it says it all:

Okay, I do not do this very often. But I'm going to recommend a book to y'all. It's called Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak. This is absolutely one of the best books I've read in a long time and I'd say def in my top 10 of best books ever. I can't even begin to explain it. It's beautiful, suspenseful, tragic and yet hopeful. It's called a "creepy and heartwarming horrid story." I didn't think something like that was possible. Now I do. It has love, addiction, spirits, murder, everything. I highly highly recommend reading this as soon as you can. Mom, yes, there are some parts that are a little spooky, but nothing too bad really. And nothing compared to King or anything like that. I picked it up at about 8 this morning and just finished it and immediately grabbed my phone to tell y'all about it. If you get the chance, please read it. If you cannot afford it, I'll ship it to any of y'all for you to borrow as long as you promise to ship it back at some point. I never loan out books, but I can't not share this with y'all.

This was the best of the best.

The first half you know something creepy is going on but can’t pinpoint what. The second half had lots of twists and turns and many gasps! The drawings throughout definitely add to the creepy nature. I couldn’t put this down and would definitely recommend!!
