It's an interesting premise and story, but I just wasn't really feeling it. It's a really quick read, but I still felt like I was slogging through.

Odd, dark, sad. I am reading through this author’s work at work.

i picked up the book at waterstones because of the absolutely gorgeous cover, then i had a look inside and found it was written in verse which is something i personally had never read before. so i decided to try something new and it payed off! immy is a great main character and i share a few of her feelings as well as relating to her struggle with identity and belonging. i genuinely fell in love with claudia alongside the main character with every kind word, hobby, interest, and moment. the take on vampires is amazing- the multiple lives that echo inside of them instead of one long, immortal life is unique and quite poetic. i love the yellow rose for their relationship instead of the typical red rose, i loved the touches of the dyed bag and claudia’s love of art, i loved the touching moments and lines that really reach into you like a voice of your own- like immy’s. first book i’ve read in a while and i’m so glad it was, i’ll never find something like it again i believe and i love that.
