Katie's life spookily mirrors mine, in some of the most embarrassing ways. Boys are awkward, at any age. Katie has shown that the awkward, sometimes scary times of just trying to get a date can turn into something hilarious and worth the experience. It was refreshing reading a book about someone who has the same struggles as me, does not give dating advice, and just embraces the craziness that is trying to find a boyfriend. A nice, light read that will have you laughing out loud or nodding in earnest agreement.

I think it was a little misleading and I didn't enjoy it as much as i expected. I don't think I can like the writer for what she's projected in the book.... Some two, three chapters were really good but that's it. The parts on her early years and high school were kind of outright terrible to me....

It's almost like I'm giving the 2 stars to the writer herself rather than the book. The epilogue particularly got on my nerves. So cliche yet it totally contradict what she actually did……

I tried, I really really tried to like this book but I just don't care enough about her life to listen to her not really that awkward or different of stories that we all go through for the most part. I get it she is awkward and cute and I'll give her that. BUT that being said, those two things don't mean you need to write and publish a book.

This book was wonderful. It really did make me feel like I was reading a page (or several pages) out of my own diary. If you've been single for a majority of your life then you should read this book. It will confirm that you are not alone in your Bermuda Triangle of life. Overall I loved the easy to read style and diary type prose. The author's relatable writing drew me in and kept me reading.
Also, shout-out to Minnesota. For being such a great state and the lovely setting to this tale.

As someone who went on their first date at 22 and then nothing again until I had my first boyfriend at 28, this book is truly appreciated. It's like Kate shares my personality! It's like she told my life story but with different names and in a much funnier manner than I ever could.

I'm a huge fan of comedic memoirs in general, but Katie Heaney's misadventures through adolescent and early adult romance struck a particular chord with me- as I myself am a 21 year old girl who has never had a boyfriend. I found myself stopping and thinking to myself at least once in every chapter, "wow, that is literally me", and even in the situations that weren't quite so relatable I felt connected to her. It took me a while to get through this book just because of my busy schedule, but every time I picked it up I was immediately sucked back in. A funny, easy, and lighthearted read- would definitely recommend!
lighthearted reflective medium-paced

This book made me realize that I want to decenter men from my life. Definitely some funny and relatable parts, but also a lot of moments where I just wanted to tell the author to stand up for herself. Also
why was she always waiting around for so many guys to ask HER to do something? I know this is easier said than done for some people of course, but it just got aggravating at a point. For example, I think Spruce was someone that was interested in her, but she never met him in the middle. Everyone gets anxious!
In the end all I have to say is, girls don’t be afraid to make the first move sometimes. Sure you might get rejected at times, but that’s part of life. Ride the waves and have fun with getting out of your comfort zone. The right person will never fault or judge you for it!!!

Ok this book started out really good, it was funny at times. But by the middle of the book I got bored and annoyed with her constantly having a crush on guys, even guys who had girlfriends. I honestly think she was/is extremely shallow. She wants a boyfriend just for the sake of having one and it was ridiculously annoying! Also the title of this book is extremely misleading....she went on plenty of dates! It should've been titled "Never Have I Ever: My Life (So Far) Without a Boyfriend". She has been on more dates than I have, and I'm 30!

It was okay. A little whiny. A lot of "I'm so awkward!" moments. Maybe you'll relate more if you're 20, I guess.

I couldn't really get into this book, I found it dragged on quite a bit but the writing/wording was crafty and creative :) it just wasn't a book I was able to get into is all.
