Monster

Frank E. Peretti

3.52 AVERAGE

I did not see this book going the way it did. Read this years ago and its still one of my favorites.

Good old fashion monster book. Peretti is a Christian fiction author but I would not call this a Christian fiction book. It was a monster book, nothing weird.

A captivating story that draws you right into the mystery and horror of what is going on in the forest. This book grabbed my attention from page one. It had me not wanting to put it down. With plenty of twists and turns it will keep you up late reading wanting to know what will happen next. My first book by this author but it definitely won't be my last.

What began as a thrilling horror with just enough suspense quickly became ridiculously... well, ridiculous. It's like Peretti tried to mash together the Blair Witch, Frankenstien and Tarzan, and it really didn't work.

I thought this book was the worst of Peretti's books that I have read so far. I don't count House as his book. The best part of the book was the ending. I fell asleep during most of the book. It just dragged on. The book could have been cut in half and I would have given it three stars. Definitely not a book I would recommend.

DID NOT FINISH

D n F'd half way through... I LOVE a Bigfoot story.. I was very excited BUT Bigfoot's should be heard and not really seen... ( no spoiling here )

I gave up on this book halfway through. Although interesting in concept I got bored and annoyed with several themes in the book, like the ample amount of machoism and constant Christianity being thrown at me, paired with the awkward stolkholm syndrome was just too much. I skimmed through the last 100 pages so I would know how it ended.

COMPLETE page-turner. Read this when you have a complete day to finish the book because you won't be able to put it down. Was so glad my friend recommended me this and introduced me to the world of Frank Peretti.

This is one of my favorite books. It pulls you in and just keeps going. While it's a serious book, I find it to be an easy read. Pacing is wonderful and you feel for all of the characters.

When I picked up the book I didn't realize it was written with a Christian moral focus (he's a Christian fiction writer). It was more obvious to me the second time I read it but it wasn't in my face. Might be an issue for others.
